Additional game design:

I found it relevant to display one of the possibilities, with the weapon customization screen.
I believe, the user would benifit from an option to get some customization recommendations or sets, by passing in the specific preferences, he wants a weapon to contain.
Of course this is outside the challenge at hand, but a quick mockup suggests how this could be approached.
A user adjusts sliders in order to get recommendations.
